April Showers . . .

Well, we are nearly 3/4ths of the way through April already!! I have been so busy with my new position at work that I haven't had time or energy to blog! We are currently planning our Taste of the Foothills wine tasting fundraiser, and it is happening this Saturday, the 21st of April. I am looking forward to it being done!

We are all fine, just very busy. Mom and Dad (Karen's) came for a visit last weekend, since we won't have another chance to see them until July! They are off galavanting around until then. Next Friday, they are driving out to their place in Arkansas, where they will spend approximately six weeks. Then back to California in late June for a week or two, then they're off to go on an Alaskan cruise July 5th! They are going with my Aunt Wanda and Uncle Al -- so much fun for them! They will be back mid-July, and then summer will be half over! Hard to believe

Bill's folks are doing okay. Bill's mom has been in and out of the hospital as per usual. She is just finishing up a two-week stint in the hospital this time -- we are hoping she went home today. We weren't able to get in touch with Bill's sister Jennie today to find out. Thank goodness for Jennie. She really looks out for them. We feel so much better knowing she is taking care of things. At the same time, we feel really guilty that she is shouldering so much of the burden. We love you, Jennie! Bill's dad continues to slowly deteriorate mentally as his dementia slowly progresses.

We are still planning on moving when the lease is up on our house. We will move sometime in June, probably sometime after June 15th. We are moving into the Mission Ranch Apartments, and they are really nice. We will NOT miss this house. There are some nice things, like having our own space and not being attached to any other structure, but there is something weird with the electricity here, and our PG&E bills are higher than anyone else I talk to. We will save a lot of money in our new place. We are getting a 3-bedroom, 2 bath apartment. You can see them here

We haven't had much of a chance to ride our new bikes, as our weather has been so unsettled. You'd think it was spring, or something!! Oh wait . . . LOL We've had some 80 degree beautiful sunny days, back to back with cold, blustery, rainy days. As they say, April showers bring May flowers. I just hope it doesn't rain on our wine tasting tour on Saturday!! Yikes!!

Well, I plan to take lots of pictures on the tour on Saturday, so I will post them this weekend. Wish me luck!! This is my first big event in my new position!

Hope everyone has a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.
