When we got home from visiting my parents over Thanksgiving, our TV was acting funny. It had retrace lines and the color was washed out. We turned it off for 15 minutes, turned it back on, and then it seemed to be fine. The next day while we were watching TV, the TV went off by itself! The remote was on the table, so it couldn't be from accidentally hitting the button. Since then it seemed to be fine . . . .
. . . Until . . .
Last night (Wed.) when we got home, it didn't even have a picture!! It was grey with white retrace lines -- dead TV!!
We decided that since we were having to purchase a new TV, we would give ourselves an early Christmas gift and splurge on new technology and a larger TV. We spent three hours at Best Buy (LCD? Plasma? Size? Too many choices!!!) and ended up with a really nice Sharp Aquos 46" LCD TV!! Fun stuff! Its even HD, so we need to go to Comcast today and pick up an HD cable box that will allow us to receive the HD signal. Here's a pic of our new TV with the stand we bought.

Okay, you two have had the worst of luck with the technology this past few months.....first the receiver and then the TV...let's hope to a better 2007!!!!
...and then the subwoofer and now we have a problem with the optical connection in the back of our DVD player . . . geesh!!
Yep I don't know what's going on with us and electronics. All I can say is thank goodness for extended warranties!
